Yes, my darlings. After almost 5 years of great work and self discovery during this project and of course since November 2014, when it had the world release in Sao Paulo; the documentary Gazelle The Love Issue by director/producer Cesar Terranova is now available for rent and purchase. So it can be yours forever….
I am so happy to have being invited by Cesar for this project…and soon I will upload a post about what I had to endure through¬†and what I learned about me and others during that journey.

“Gazelle, The Love Issue”; the documentary produced and directed by Cesar Terranova got a shout out on the RG site in Brazil. The article gives info about its premiere, and it also released the movie poster which was designed by Robert W Richards, the iconic New York fashion illustrator.

the out list, a must see movie

Well, I finally found some time to watch The Out List documentary by the talented filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders. A superb one hour movie piece featuring very intimate interviews with high profile (mostly) members of the LGBTQ community. I think everyone can somehow relate to their stories and experiences…I was very touched by Ellen DeGeneres, Janet Mock, Lady Bunny and Larry Kramer; I won’t tell you why because I think it is important that you watch it !

People that are very closed to me, know that for over two years I have been the subject of a documentary called ” Gazelle, The Love Issue “, a project by filmmaker Cesar Terranova. We are on the last few months of shooting (ending in February 2013).

Today we shot the Gazelle Mac look scene, this was the look that Cesar kindly asked me if I would repeat it again. The first and only time I did this look (before today) was for The Happiness Issue of ” iD magazine ” in 2006. It is very uncomfortable, but a very strong and striking look.

I told Cesar of course I would do it…but we took it to another step by doing a photo shoot with amazing photographer Dustin Pittman in front of the Apple Store or the ” Church of Materialism “, as artist Matt O’Neill calls it. Matt was passing by and took these interesting photos. He recorded the moment I was walking down the staircase and minutes later I was coming out of the elevator escorted out by security.

Honestly, the idea was just to come out from the front of the elevator…but dressed like that I felt the urge to go down the staircase and ride back up in the elevator, how could I not? Of course, people went wild when I got to the bottom of the stairs when I had to stand waiting to for the elevator…security politely asked me to walk out…and the rest is history…

In the elevator…a woman complained that I was inconveniencing her life…I guess she was in a hurry… I politely told her ” I apologize for inconveniencing your life ” and I waited for her response, maybe she would look up at my face…but she didn’t…she kept looking down as the elevator was taking us up…..

I finally had the chance to watch the documentary ” About Face: Supermodels Then and Now ” on HBO. This piece produced by respected photographer/filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders features super recognizable iconic models talking lightly how life was at the peak of their careers, but it also extends to their personal views about aging and how that transformation have impacted them. This is a perfect soft entertainment for those who like fashion history….no bitchiness, no hard core drama here !

gazeLLe ” the love iSSue ” for one night only

Cesar Elias and Gazelle Paulo

It was quite a delightful time, that I spent at the first of the two-night thesis showcase from the graduating documentarians at the NY Film Academy. Cesar Elias presented his short piece “Gazelle – The Love Issue”, and I must say it was quite interesting to see myself on that big screen. I saw all the seven pieces shown before Cesar’s, all I can say is that I am happy that movie making is not my calling. There is so much involved. I was happy to be there for Cesar, our journey started last September and it will be completed in February 2013. The piece shown that night can’t be seeing publicly because it could conflict with the final longer version that Cesar is working on, but you can see a cute teaser released right after we started it last year, he titled it “Gazelle NY”:
