history: prince wiLLiam on the cover of gay magazine

atitude magazine now

“No one should be bullied for their sexuality or any other reason” ( Prince William / The Duke of Cambridge)

Prince William makes history for being the first member of the Royal Family to pose for the cover of a gay publication: ATTITUDE MAGAZINE. All I can say is that Diana would have been so proud of him….and we thank Prince William for the love.

backstage at the susaNNe bartsch vogue italia fashion shOOt

What can I say? From the very first time Susanne Bartsch and I were photographed together, back in 2004, to be able to be present at many important  events in her super busy social life like the opening of her exhibit “Fashion Underground: The World of Susanne Bartsch” at FIT. It felt very special to receive an invitation from her to appear at her historic fashion editorial for Vogue Italia shot by Steven Klein, styled by Patti Wilson and make up by Kabuki. For someone who is not a model like moi, it felt amazing, but also it was extra special to be standing next to my friend and artist Scooter LaForge, and yes I was fully dressed in Scooter, from wig to shoes…amazing.
The shoot itself spread over two days at Pier 59 Studios; needless to say it was a lot of fun; I was able to reconnect with old colleagues and meet fabulous people like the incredible Duo RAW from Sweden …yes, I very rarely go out now…unless it is a great event.
The fashion story spread “YES. IT’S ME SUSANNE BARTSCH” clearly pays homage to the queen of New York night life; the concept takes – naturally and evidently – readers to what it means to be in Susanne’s habitat, which is surrounded by her entourage of fashionable hostess and artists who visually take any party to the next level. She is the maestro of her parties, controlling every single detail with the security of someone who has seen it all. It was quite impressive to see the work of Steve and Patti bringing out incredible images. You can see the whole spread HERE.

Personally, it meant a lot to me to be included in this great story. Back in 2006, I was also in a group photo(below) wearing an Apple Monitor headpiece for the “Happy Issue of iD magazine”, when Kenny Kenny and Susanne Bartsch had their favorite artists representing their party Happy Valley, and for that group of clearly amazing people I and Brandon Olson were the only ones at the Vogue shoot above…so I guess my job is done here 😀

I am very happy to be featured on the latest issue of YAY! HYPE Magazine, which is a magazine based in my hometown Teresina, in Brazil. Last Spring, its founder Irakerly Filho was in New York to do a whole issue dedicated to the people from my state – Piaui – who lives in the city that never sleeps. It was a lot of fun doing a photo to illustrate the interview that I did with them.
The photo was taken during the day in Soho, and I was wearing a dress made by Hostyano Machado, who is a great artist from Teresina. Of course my “transformer” headpiece added a little twist to the overall look. Fun, fun and fun.

rihanna on the cover of baZaar

Stop everything and clear the beach area; Rihanna’s cover for the March Issue of Harpers Bazaar will leave your jaws on the floor. The pop star dressed in a Chanel gold swimsuit was photographed by Norman Jean Roy in Tampa (Florida). The shark is a reference for the 40th anniversary of Jaws !!

15 years of expansão magazine

expansao 2

To celebrate 15 years in the business, the Brazilian magazine Expansão RS – based in the south of Brazil – asked some interesting people what is the recipe for happiness. Although I am not really a promoter as they printed on the page, I felt very happy to be part of their celebration surrounded by such cool people.

Yes, this month I was featured on the magazine L’Officiel Brazil on the “Marcelanes” column by columnist Marcelo Ferrari aka Marcelona – one of the most known faces of Sao Paulo nightlife. “The Boy From Teresina” (me :D) headline explains a little bit about the movie/documentary “Gazelle, The Love Issue” by director Cesar Terranova that I am featured and which will be premiering in the Festival Mix Brazil in Sao Paulo on November 17th. Super cool !!

vaczine # one by walt ceSSna is out

VACZINE # ONE is out. The annual hardcover art & literary journal edited & published by artist, writer and photographer Walt Cessna & art directed by Frank Gargiulo is finally available for purchase on Blurb.

Anything that Walt Cessna does is a true extension of his own style and aesthetics, he follows no one, but he has a huge following crowd. This past Friday, Walt Cessna together with photographer Natasha Gornik opened their “Sharp Objects” show at the Leslie-Lohman space on Prince Street.

VACZINE contains a vast group of New York artists hand picked by Walt to form an extremely visual, artistically inspiring and at times also sexually charged book. VACZINE is with no doubt a Walt Cessna’s look at what excites him as a human being and as an artist. Walt selected artist Scooter LaForge‘s work for the cover.

Yes, I was invited to be part of this first issue, and I felt honored to be in the company of such inspiring creativity…

vogue japan: 15 models celebrating its 15th aNNiversary

vogue japan
vogue japan 2
Cover by Luigi & Iango

We all love super models, specially when they are “put” together on the spotlight; glamour and beauty just melt away in all corners. The celebration of the 15th anniversary of Vogue Japan is indeed a revival’s model feast; Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, Stephanie Seymour, Nadja Auermann and Naomi Campbell on the cover, and if that wasn’t enough, the cover folds out revealing more gorgeous faces like Karen Elson, Natasha Poly, Carolyn Murphy, Eva Herzigova and Guinevere Van Seenus among others…yes among other beauties.
I must say that although the cover is fantastic, the cover is missing Christy Turlington and Kate Moss, but can you imagine how dramatic it must have been to schedule all these women together? Happy Anniversary Vogue Japan !!
