posing for photographer frederico mendes

Gazelle by Frederico Mendes (low resolution)

This past month I had the honor of posing for the lenses of the amazing Brazilian photographer Frederico Mendes. The shoot took place in Rio de Janeiro, few days after I attended the launch of his book Arpoador.
Frederico Mendes is a fashion photographer who also has crossed over to photo journalism; he has lived in Paris and New York. Besides working for all the major magazines like Marie Claire, Vogue, Elle, Time, Stern … Frederico became very known in Brazil when he worked at Manchete – one of the most famous Brazilian magazines ever – photographing all the most important faces in Brazil and international pop stars visiting the country. So, it is needless to say how amazing I felt, especially after seeing how great the photos turned out.

life baLL 2014 poster by david lachapeLLe

The 2014 Life Ball poster by photographer David LaChapelle featuring the trans model Carmen Carrera is rather beautiful.

“I’M ADAM – I’M EVE – I’M ME” in its two versions was posted in Vienna few days ago in cooperation with the advertising company Gewista to herald Life Ball’s message for diversity and to announce David LaChappelle’s exhibition at Galerie Ostlicht “Once in the Garden”, which will run from June 2 until September 14. Also, this art work will be auctioned at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna place prior to the Life Ball Opening.

the switcherOO bOOk by hana pesut

The ” Switcheroo Book ” is a self-funded portrait series book project by Canadian photographer Hana Pesut. The book’s concept is very simple and fun, couples are photographed twice, once in their own outfits, them shot again but wearing each others outfits against the same background, and of course they swap sides. Hana spent two years photographing over 200 switcheroos all over the world. It is a very cool gift for anyone who enjoys fashion and photography. I love it !

dial love for hotel rOOm service

Yesterday, I was in my hotel room in Rio de Janeiro, and again, I came across these photos by Richard Renaldi. They have been out for quite some time now, but it is always so inspiring to see them, it is a very simple and just lovely concept. Basically, since 1999, Richard has been documented his travels around the world with his partner Seth Boyd; from hotel rooms, hostel rooms to motel rooms. The ” Hotel Room Portraits” is an adorable demonstration of commitment, intimacy, love and devotion.  Check more photos at the link below:

greg lotus at the robin rice gaLLery

Yesterday, I attended the opening night show of photographer/artist Greg Lotus in New York City, at the Robin Rice Gallery. Greg’s work is often featured in Italian Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ, L’Uomo Vogue, and W magazine…just to name a few…. so, the show was filled with a chic, cool New York crowd who came to support him. Greg spends his time in Manhattan, Paris and Miami.

The show has stunning black & white images, some with pop of colors, and also sophisticated colorful fashionable images, models are mostly dressed in glamorous inspired swimsuits from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. The mood is classic chic but with a sense of joy. It is a indeed a collection of photographs worth seeing it.

From Miami, Greg flew in Elaine Lancaster to host the event. Needless to say she looked stunning !

the flight aTTendant years by lucien samaha

Cockpit and Cabin Crews, Flughafen Frankfurt am Main (The Flight Attendant Years), 1983
by Lucien Samaha

“The Flight Attendant Years: 1978-1986” is the first show of New York based photographer Lucien Samaha at the Lombard Freid  Projects gallery.
I am a great admirer of Lucien’s work who I also personally know. In this show, he invites us into a biographical and nostalgic trip when the lives of flight attendants were indeed considered somewhat glamorous.
Lucien worked in the skies for Trans World Airlines ( TWA ), and his documentation of a golden age of travel will be filled with precious ” life souvenirs ” collected throughout his career; from beautiful and intimate images to personal correspondence. No doubt, a lovely and real behind the scenes of someone who was really an insider.
Parallel to his exhibition, Lucien Samaha will be also setting up a portrait studio at Lombard Freid Projects,  on three consecutive Saturdays after the opening night, to photograph active and retired Flight Attendants IN UNIFORM…so show up ready to work for Lucien’s camera.

 at The Mercedes Club

The concept was simple and fun…Olivia Newton John has done it, Amanda Lepore has done it, and lots of models and diva have done it also…I guess…so, then it was my twisted turn to show up at a gym for a glam work out photo shoot section, and I did it with artist/photographer R Hunter Eitel…the place was The Mercedes Club, very hip and young chic. You should have seen the faces…omg
