Today I was introduced to the concept of Vapiano, a very cozy and casual Italian food restaurant with a fast food kinda twist, customers can personally order their food and watch as it is being prepared right under your eyes. It is very affordable. We(Alex Gerry and I) went to its London location on Great Portland Street. Vapiano is a German founded company, and it is already taking over the world with locations in eighteen countries including Saudia Arabia, Mexico, Austria and USA.
You receive a chip card at the entrance, and you can order your choices from the different stations around the restaurant. I would think that it can be become quite chaotic if the restaurant is crowded, because lines can become quite long, so I think for a more pleasant time, a week day would be the best time to go. Although I only had a very simple Tagliatelle Carbonara, I must say it was delicious. The decor is signed by designer Matteo Thun, from Milan.
