american airlines new safety video

Well, American Airlines has a new image: as of September 20th, the giant airline company changed their uniform employees , from the deep blue to a very chic dark grey with light blue and accents of red for the female group. To go along with the new look, the new safety video just dropped in the internet.
My opinion? I love it !! It is new, smart, different, it has a great fashionable speed and it gets the job done, because it gets you to be interested in it from beginning to the end. See it for yourself below.
And for those who don’t know….you can follow my adventures on American Airlines right here: Gazelle In The Sky

banda de ipanema 2016

banda 3

this photo was taken by the mother of Gustavo; and I am wearing a dress and head scarf by Scooter LaForge, necklaces by Pericles Kondylatos and hat by Ron Keenan

The last time I attended the Banda de Ipanema, in Rio de Janeiro, was to do the Explain It to Gazelle , a short improvisation exercise video for the movie company  Terranova 8 Films, and that was back in 2013.
This Carnival, I was very happy that I managed to be in Rio two out of the three times when this very famous band take the fun to the streets of Ipanema.
My look for both times was fun and simple, first because it is the carnival vibe of it and second because it is so hot. My idea was to be walking around dragging a phone talking to Adele, God, my mother, husband or whoever came to mind….I had the best interaction with everybody…and I can surely say that I will be back next year.

art a porter: fierce style, fashion and art

Scooter LaForge and moi / photo by Robin Souma

Only now I had a chance to look back at some photos of Art-A-Porter; this amazing art project sponsored by Mac Cosmestics, Chashama and Susanne Bartsch. It was the second time around that Susanne brought this great event.
Amazing NY based artists gave their best shows and performances in two separate venues in Times Square. It was a explosion of art, style and hard core fashion. It all happened during New York Fashion Week and it lasted 5 days.
I felt very privileged to be included in the art installation that artist Scooter LaForge did for the opening day. It was so fun and crazy to be in that pool of balloons. Scooter was drawing monster faces on the balloons, and I was giving them away to everybody who wished to have one. Even Michael Alig together with Ernie Glam stopped by and both got balloons. The next morning they started their show The Pee-ew with the Scooter’s balloons.

scrunchies war zone

Marc Jacobs scrunchie ($32) & Missoni scrunchie ($95)

Honestly, I despise scrunchies. Yesterday, for my surprise, I watched a ten minutes segment on Today show’s fourth hour with Kathie Lee & Hoda about these little annoying head ugly things from the 80’s. They are trying to fight their way back into the ” fashion ” spotlight.
Is it possible that designers can make them look cool just because they decided to put a stiff price tag on them? I guess so, but I hope not. Who would spend $32 on a Marc by Marc Jacobs scrunchie? How about a $95 Missoni scrunchie? Who is going crazy here? Designers? Women?

” No women who works at W-magazine and lives on Perry Street would be caught dead at a hip downtown restaurant wearing a scrunchie! ” said a smart Carrie Bradshaw to an angry Jack Burger on a ” Sex and the City ” episode where they were arguing about scrunchies…oh Lord !! I couldn’t agree more with her, and unless you are sleeping, cooking in your home or into a full home cleaning mode… yes, those are the only times you can allow yourself to be caught dear or alive wearing a scrunchie…
        Just saying !!

evezones soldiers have one thing to say: you beTTer work !!

If ancient Rome gave us togas…in Athens is where you really know how a man can style a skirt…lol..but seriously speaking the uniforms of the famous Evezones soldiers are a spectacle in Athens. It doesn’t matter it it was the Greeks or the Albanians who wore if first, let’s history decide on that, the fact is that the fustanella skirt-like garment worn by this young soldiers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is really a sensation. Never seen so many people lining up to be photographed next to them…even I got that fever rush !

According to wikipedia, the Evezones have three different uniform versions; one navy blue for winter, khaki for summer and the full uniform is worn on Sunday, holidays or at the reception of foreign dignitaries, and this one has a white, bell-sleeved shirt and a white fustanella with 400 pleats…I so do want it, and I don’t mind taking the soldier home also…
