The New York Fashion Week / Men started at Dune Studios with what they call New York Men’s Day where twelve designers showcased their collections at a two part day presentation, indeed a men’s day. The event presented by Agentry Pr opens up for the official men fashion week line up, I believe this is its third edition.

Overall the mood was political and of course the use of camouflage fabrics was very present. My interest was very much concentrated on Bristol, a Los Angeles brand , with its dusty palette and light refinement concepts. Back to the basics in a sharp and solid silhouette was the brand Uri Minkoff with his urban designers for the modern man.

There was a glamorous punk romantic mood in the Georgine S/S 2017, but make no mistakes, this is a strong girl who watched the Kiss of the Spider Woman on her first class seat from NY to London, after raiding her mom’s’ closets. A black fur top that tied in the back with D-rings was paired with loose sequined pants…so chic !!

Miguel Vieira collection had a relaxed and yet sophisticated vibe when one, men in this case, must not be afraid to mix prints. If you ask me, a chic suit paired with elegant sandals is a formidable look if done well as did this Portuguese born designer. The metallic details on the women’s pieces for sure made my favorite looks of this effortless and classy presentation.

Leanne Marshall continues to follow her very feminine and beautiful vision; the already expected flowy silk dresses didn’t disappoint …with a light pallete that embraced pale rose, off white and celestite blue, Leanne, the Season 5 winner of “Project Runway”,  allowed herself the luxury to add structured and delicate coats to her S/S collection.

“Midnight of the Secret Garden” theme set the tone for the Michael Costello Spring 2017 who started the show with his signature style dresses: double thigh slights, lots of sexy lace and décolletage. The green and dark gowns were rich and perfect for the red carpet.  Tyson Beckford walked down the runway announcing Costello’s new menswear line. The crowd loved him…and his burgundy suit!

No doubt that the legendary stylist Patricia Field can throw one hell of a party / fashion show!! Even though she decided to close her famous boutique – keeping her business activities only online – leaving all her followers in shock, Patricia still very much remains a force of inspiration and reference in the fashion industry. One of the strongest elements of her success is caused by her ability to spot fresh and real talent; the Patricia Field fashion show yesterday at the Howl! Happening Gallery showcased the faces who are representing her brand at the moment and for quite some time: Ben Copperwheat, Jody Morlock, Tom Knight, Suzanne Mallouk, Kyle Brincefield, Suzan Pitt, Scooter LaForge and Iris Bonner. Some of their works are above in a speed photo way…to become more familiar with their work click on the links of their names.

The crowd was colorful and filled with socialites, fashionistas, artists and clubland fierce faces….I had a blast!!

Two days ago, Style.com published the article “The Faces of Fashion” with some really stunning behind of the scene images of the beautiful people who attended the super busy Milk Made Fashion Week at the Milk Studios(NY). Photographer Andrew Boyle indeed captured a great collection of serious fashion and personal style; so I put together a little collage with some of the familiar faces….can you find me ? 😀
