american airlines new safety video

american-now-fierce

Well, American Airlines has a new image: as of September 20th, the giant airline company changed their uniform employees , from the deep blue to a very chic dark grey with light blue and accents of red for the female group. To go along with the new look, the new safety video just dropped in the internet.
My opinion? I love it !! It is new, smart, different, it has a great fashionable speed and it gets the job done, because it gets you to be interested in it from beginning to the end. See it for yourself below.
And for those who don’t know….you can follow my adventures on American Airlines right here: Gazelle In The Sky

I attended the opening reception party for the El Museo del Barrio for ANTONIO LOPEZ: A Photo Cocktail Party. It was a pop-up installation at The Leslie Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art’s satellite space, The Prince Street Project, celebrating the 1979 legendary party hosted by Antonio Lopez and his creative partner Juan Ramos at New York City’s Robert Freidus Gallery. The event was hosted by Cynthia Powell and Robert W Richards, and attendees revived the scene atmosphere when Antonio and Juan invited party-goers to pose for a large-format polaroid camera and the images were immediately displayed on the gallery walls. I loved the photo I took with Snoogy Brown. Today is the last day of this exhibit, if you want to know a little more about this iconic fashion illustrator. The show, although small, is marvelous and inspiring….and yes my photo is there on the wall somewhere !

me in Scooter LaForge on the ” ALL TIME” best dressed club personalities list on Paper Magazine

I must say it does feel good to be part of an amazing list, specially if this list includes names of a scene that I love so much. So, ” The 16 Best-Dressed Club Personalities of All Time ” was released by the Paper Magazine right on time to celebrate New York Fashion Week. The article was written by Michael Musto and style maven Christian Svoboda, and it really embraces the best of an already sublime scene that is filled with the most creative people. So it makes me extremely happy to have been included in the company of Kenny Kenny, Susanne Bartsch, Amanda Lepore, Joey Arias and…well, to check all the incredible names and photos just go to check HERE.

Thank you Michael & Christian !!

at the Royal Olympic (2012) by Fernando Ferraz

I have developed a fascination with towels on my head since the George Michael’s Freedom music video where super model Cindy Crawford glamorously plays with one … those two seconds scene was enough to have inspired me to have created fun looks with towels. I guess for me, the towel becomes the imaginary long hair that I once had it for real.

I love the series that photographer Mario Testino has also created throughout the years with famous people, which started with Kate Moss, and although I am certain that there is no way I would never be part of that group; Me, myself and I are very happy with my own series also, so move over Britney :D. The ones above, in the bathtub, were taken in Athens (2012), at the Royal Olympic Hotel, by my best friend Fernando Ferraz, who had no idea that the only reason I stayed there was because the bathroom was so beautiful that I wanted a “towel” photo there…well I guess now he will know…ooops :D.

I remember well, it was 2009 the first time I ever set foot at the Society of Illustrators to attend the event “The Line of Fashion” curated by the super iconic illustrator Robert W Richards, my dear friend and member of that society group. (See the video HERE).
So, of course I didn’t think twice about saying yes when Scooter LaForge invited me to come along to model, some of my looks created by him, at a special Sketch Night dedicated to him at the Society of Illustrators, hosted by artist Ted Michalowski.
It was a marvelous feeling to be in a room filled with young and established illustrators who were given sets of 5 or 10 minutes to draw you. Scooter also invited Jorge Clar and Rachel Singer, who are also both collectors of LaForge’s clothing lines; so we took turns in the small center stage. Believe me, I found out it is not quite an easy job to be standing still, for any amount of minutes, posing in an elaborate and heavy ensemble, but at the same time it was a magnificent experience to be in that prestigious organization.
Below are some of the illustrations – of the three looks I styled – that attendees posted on Instagram. You should also look for #s for Jorge Clar and SparklePrincess (Rachel Singer).

On our last day in Montreal, we visited our New York friend Stephen Pevner who lives there six months out of the year. Stephen, who besides being a successful film producer, is the force behind the super amazing brand Saint at Large….and as if all this wasn’t enough, his new business endeavor is the Chez Priape store, located in the heart of gay Montreal, where you can find just all the accessories to make your hot body look even hotter…ask my friend Scooter LaForge and he will tell you…or show you… 😀

john gaLLiano debuts at maison martin margiela

The fashion world can almost seat back and relax after witnessing today, in London, the debut show of John Galliano for the Maison Martin Margiela. The first impression is always a strong one, if not the strongest at times, and when Galliano started the show by sending out a beige jacket with unfinished seams which had matchbox-sized toy black cars as the trim, paired with black and nude vertical strips tights, it was indeed a confirmation that we could all calm down for now, until next collection of course. Yes, we know he gets the Martin Margiela aesthetic and the show demonstrated his willingness to contain his inclination to excessive grandeur…so now let’s wait and see if the world will follow his adventure at his new fashion home…
